With the biannual ritual of manipulating our hours of daylight right around the corner, I feel compelled to chat about a pet peeve of mine -Daylight Saving Time.

That's right SAVING TIME ...not SAVINGS TIME. This is the official spelling for the time of year when we mess with our alarm clocks AND body clocks. Any decent weather girl will tell you it is always our job to remind viewers to do this task.

I'm hardly Gertrude Grammar... But while DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME tends to be more conversational, it's really grammatically incorrect.

SAVING is used as a verbal adjective (a participle). It modifies TIME and reveals more about its nature. It is characterized by the activity of SAVING DAYLIGHT. So save your "S"!

What really is baffling about this is that no daylight is actually saved. Our hours of daylight shift ,making the days seem longer as we spring forward one hour this weekend.

While this concept has actually been around since Ben Franklin's days...one would think we could come up with a more accurate description for our tampering with time and sunshine.

How about Daylight Manipulating Time? Or Manipulating Daylight Time? or Time to Manipulate Daylight?

I'd like to know how we can simply say, "OK, let's make it this weekend and not two weeks from now." How did that happen? Can we push it into February, and then turn the clocks back in January to really mess with people?

Amy,

You were my student at SIU many years ago. It's a long story as to why I thought of you recently, but on a rainy afternoon in NJ I googled my way to your blog.

I am thrilled by your success, but not surprised, since you always had a certain "star quality". I am also terribly saddened by your loss, and send a prayer your way as I write this. I hope you are well.

Across many years and many miles...

Peace,

Dan

Amy,

Wow, thanks for the fast response!

I'd rather not print my last name in this public format. The course was "Interpersonal Communication" (Speech Communication 152 if I remember correctly). I always found it ironic that I was teaching YOU that subject since you were such a naturally gifted communicator.

Be well...Peace,

DL

Erotic Photos of Anthony D. Zinnanti's daughter.

Question: Who was the photographer?

The following is a summary of published reports and existing websites:

"Anthony D. Zinnanti, the attorney who orchestrated the effort to
sanction Mr. Jack McClellan with a permanent restraining order established his standing in the action by conscripting his 13 year old daughter, Bianica Zinnanti, as the plaintiff in the petition to the court. While Mr. Zinannti filed the petition on behalf of Jane Doe and was not obligated to disclose the identity of Jane Doe, he opted to declare during public meetings and during court proceeding that Jane Doe was in fact his daughter.

However, while he was pleading to the court to restrain Mr. McClellan from publishing photographs of Ms. Zinnanti, Mr. Zinannti's own web sites directed visitors to clearly erotic photographs of his own 13 year old daughter and other girls posing to the camera with the clear intent to entice and arouse erotic and/or sexual desires on the part of the viewer.

Listed on one of his contacts on that page is "brasilianbebe101"

http://www.flickr.com/photos/brasilianbebe/

brasilianbebe101 is the account of Bianca Zinnanti, Mr. Zinnanti's
13 year old daughter and the person Zinnanti publicly claims is the
Jane Doe he represented in the petition for restraining order.

Mr. Zinnanti is no stranger to sexualized teenagers. As attorney,
his most notable case might be in November 2005 representing a 17

Mr. Zinnanti is no stranger to sexualized teenagers. As attorney,
his most notable case might be in November 2005 representing a 17
year old man who used his penis to slap the forehead of a high
school freshman while two accomplices forcibly held the younger boy
down on the floor. Mr. Zinnanti described the incident "more in
terms of shenanigans".

Most ironic about these facts may be that for several months of
2006, Mr. Zinnanti became obsessed with teenagers and pre-teens chatting on the internet site he created called tweenland.com. In fact, Mr.
Zinnanti abandoned his law practice favoring instead to literally
monitor the private chats of 800 boys and girls he attracted to
a site run from his home computer. ( Search in The Signal, or inquire of me for full references)

He abandoned tweenland.com around February of 2007 parting with bitter broadsides against the entire set of internet investment companies. It appears that until the arrival of Mr. McClellan to Santa Clarita, Mr. Zinnanti did not do much of anything. He certainly failed to heed his own advice to children and parents. The erotic photographs of Bianca
Zinnanti appear to have been posted during this period.

Finally, now searching for a new career after the failure of tweenland.com, Mr. Zinnanti thinks he will start a career as a journalist. (Stated recently in The Signal BBS pages.)"

I’ve been hospitalized 4-5 times in the past 2 years, and 18 treatments of Electroconvulsive therapy (better known as shock treatment).
September I graduated from Cedars Partial Hospitalization Program that I attended for 9 months/ 8 hours daily.
While I was on the phone with a suicide hotline they called the police and my door was kicked down. Don’t police know how to ring a doorbell?
Despite the fact that I told them I have a doctor at Cedars, I was handcuffed and taken to County Hospital.
My memory is very spotty, but I remember being escorted down a hall and seeing a huge sign that said “Jail Ward”, the food was unidentifiable, and I was placed in a Co-ed dorm (I don’t remember seeing any other women). I was treated like a criminal (The buddy system helps to get though hospitalizations).

The next day I was transferred to a hospital where I had a private room, bathroom, flat screen TV, very nice staff, and the food was edible.
The only problem was they also brought prisoners there. Each one had their personal assigned US Marshall watching over them.
The Marshalls would walk them around the floor for exercise in handcuffs & foot cuffs (I remember hearing the chains when they walked by my room).
The hospitals always schedule activities, and one day was bowling in the hall with plastic pins & ball.
I stayed in my room to take a nap so I missed the action when a Marshall was walking an inmate who attacked a patient bowling.
He was taken to ER and required stitches around his eye.
In a matter of seconds the floor was taken over by FBI agents and US Mar
