Ok..I'm sure many of you are saying it was just a matter of time before the Cowboys' Adam "Pac Man" Jones got into more trouble.  And get this...he apparently targets his own body guards, employed to keep him out of trouble.  What is with this guy?  There's a code of conduct and if you want to play in the NFL, you follow the straight and narrow..keep your nose clean and do your job.  If you can't do that...even after you've been warned, then perhaps Pac Man should packup and find another line of work.  Who knows, he may have to should NFL officials decide he's no longer welcome.  What a shame!  It's a privilege and an honor to be able to play in the NFL.  Do you think Pac Man knows that.....or cares?

It's a whole new season as the Angels take on the Red Sox.  On paper, it's all Angels...the best team in baseball in 2008, they took care of Boston during the regular season, they're healthy...  But Boston is Boston...even though they're the wild card this time around and they no longer have Manny...you have to take them seriously.  If the Angels play as they did during the regular season..they'll advance.

How could it happen??  USC loses to Oregon State!  Remember the headlines after they beat Ohio State...talking about the BCS championship?  Well...with USC's first Pac 10 loss of the season, they'll need to foucs on a good showing in the conference, instead of nationally.  The number one team down 21-0 at the half.  Wow!  Yes, they did come back and just fell short of winning.  But a loss is a loss and folks, this was a big one!  Time to get back to basics and focus on football.

Wow..didn't see that comin.  Brett heads to New Yawk?  Should be interesting.  Talk about a contrast in clubs.  I can only wonder how Favre will fit into that offense.  Some might argue...what offense?  But that's another story.  Good luck Bret!

He's retiring...he's not...he wants to stay in Green Bay...the team is moving on..oh the drama!  I think few doubt Favre still has what it takes to start in the NFL.  Sure, he fell short in his return to the Super Bowl, but this guy is tough.  But, that's not the issue. He told his beloved cheeseheads he was hanging up the cleats and they told him they'd hang up his jersey to honor one of the best..a future hall of famer for sure.  He had time to change his mind...but now...after the Pack decided to go to move on in the post-Favre era.  I can understand why the team doesn't want Bret AND why they don't want him going anywhere else.  Is there still a chance we might see Bret don the green and yellow and run onto Lambeau Field.  Yes, but I wouldn't hold my breath.  I'm sure he and the Pack will work out something.  Personally..I would've loved to see him play one more year.  However, I respected his initial decision to retire for the reasons he gave. And now.....

What a U.S. Open!!  Typically, the words "thrilling" and "edge of your seat" don't come to mind while watching golf.  Ok, I'm not a big time fan of the sport and rarely do I find myself tuning in.  But there I was on Father's Day with my dad, watching two splendid golfers and two genuinely nice people tee it up.  It was a classic matchup with a twist.  The best in the universe, despite a bad knee, up against the Cinderella-storied little known golfer ranked 150 something.  A tip of the cap to Tiger and Rocco, who gave us quite a show on the final day AND during the playoff AND sudden death competition.   Both showed great skill and class.  I found myself rooting for both men.  Tiger battled back from pain and Rocco just played championship golf til the end.  Just think...here's Rocco..at 45 vying to become the oldest U-S Open champion.  He was cool under pressure throughout, sporting his 60's era peace sign belt buckle.  It just goes to show that someone "that" age can still run with the youngins.  I suppose in my heart of hearts...I wanted Rocco to emerge the victor as evidence things don't always turn out as expected and that the underdog remains a force to be reckoned with.  Despite Tiger's popularity, there was a strong presence in the gallery, chanting Rocco.  I hope we see more of Rocco and more Rocco's down the line.  Again...thanks for the show!!

Ok, I suppose anyone can charge anything they want for coveted Lakers/Celtics tickets... But WHO in their right mind would pay such out of this world prices??  Well..if you have money to burn..then maybe.  It's just insane.  As much as $25,000 for a courtside ticket.  Are you kidding me?  Here's the scary thing....  there's probably a lot of people out there willing the shell out those bucks... and then some!

There I was...trying to teach my two young daughters how to shoot baskets. Imagine a couple of girls about four feet tall taking aim up at a ten foot high rim with a regulation size basketball. It wasn't easy and time after time they missed. They quickly became discouraged, thinking they could never make a basket. I told them it was all about technique and practice. Wouldn't you know, that after a few dozen times, they sunk a few baskets..some..nothin but net. Their frowns quickly gave way to ear to ear smiles. More importantly, they gained confidence, achieving what appeared impossible. They also learned that through failure, they could make adjustments to succeed. Hmmm....and I thought I was just teaching them about basketball!

The OC's my beat for FOX 11 News. But you can catch me covering just about any story, any place, any time. Have news, will travel! I've been doing that here at Fox 11 for 15 years, traveling coast to coast and south of the border. You never know what you might do or where you might end up and your assignment could change from one minute to the next. To me, that's what being a reporter is all about. And it's pretty cool working in an area where I was born and raised. Yep, I'm a native Angeleno and proud of it!! In case you're wondering, Naipo is Hawaiian, the short version of the 21-letter ancestral name, Naipoikamanaihookaahi....
Good luck on the pronunciation.
