Have you noticed that a lot of gas stations which normally sell gas at higher than normal prices are holding the line at $3.99 for regular?  I have.  Yet, these same stations have no problem asking $4.30 and $4.40 for mid grade and premium.  It seems they just can't bring themselves to breach the $4 mark for regular.  I know if I see $4 and up for regular, I'll just drive on by..at least...for now.  And you know, $3.99 is no bargain.  Actually, I've seen several gas stations in the OC selling regular for $3.75..ain't that great!!  Just remember, the oil companies, as they tell us, have no choice but to pass along the increased costs.  I suppose they also have no choice but to keep raking in record profits!!  Pain at the pump!!!

the problem here is they are increasing costs because how much it costs to fill up the delivery trucks full of their gasoline to get to the stations they own...its brilliant ..its almost as good as our government telling farmers to either not grow or destroy crops to keep the prices up..the ultimate pyramid scheme and the whole country is forced to get in..

Yeah crafty that may be true but we can always nationalize, nationalize and nationalize the monopolies since they are no longer playing in a free market capitalistic forum. Once they became monopolies they should be regulated bigtime.

Gasoline hits 130 a barrel for oil. It was below 30 dollars a barrel when President Bush came into power in 2000.

Has anybody noticed that diesel (which used to be cheaper that regular) is not going for $5.00 and up? Truckers are paying $1300.00 a week just to fill up their gas tanks, and when the cost of transportation goes up, the cost of EVERYTHING goes up.

A CALL FOR SCIENTIST and ENGINEERS!

We need to force our government to invest in innovative ways to deal with this GAS hell. First, I think we need to stop relaying on gas and diesel for transportation. I believe us Americans are smart enough to come up with cars that can use energy to "fuel" our demands instead of oil. Another thing, we need to STAY AWAY from Hydrogen powered vehicles too! Its a nice start, but think about it- We are complaining about how we need to conserve water in the summer b/c of limited resources, so how in this world are we going to move millions of cars on resources that we NEED to survive. ei=water! like i said, great start but not smart....lets get our govenment moving people.

If you're waiting for the government to do it don't hold your breath, but this guy's already solved the problem. I guarantee the oil company will never allow this idea to materialize.

The OC's my beat for FOX 11 News. But you can catch me covering just about any story, any place, any time. Have news, will travel! I've been doing that here at Fox 11 for 15 years, traveling coast to coast and south of the border. You never know what you might do or where you might end up and your assignment could change from one minute to the next. To me, that's what being a reporter is all about. And it's pretty cool working in an area where I was born and raised. Yep, I'm a native Angeleno and proud of it!! In case you're wondering, Naipo is Hawaiian, the short version of the 21-letter ancestral name, Naipoikamanaihookaahi....
Good luck on the pronunciation.
