What's with all these coyotes attack on small kids?  Thankfully, no one's been killed.  The latest incident happened in Lake Arrowhead.  A mom dashes in the house and in an instant...a coyote grabs her two year old daughter by the head..and heads for the street.  The coyote drops the kid, but not before inflicting some serious puncture wounds.  Hey..these coyotes are doing what comes natural.  Kids might not know better, which is why you can't let them out of your sight...for a minute!

Humans encroaching on the coyote's habitat and lack of food for the coyotes in the existing habitat can cause attacks on humans. I grew up near a canyon that had coyotes and I rarely ever saw them. Interesting todays coyotes are so bold they attack small children. What has Animal Control said about the situation?

A thought crossed my mind...is it legal to shoot the coyotes when they attack or attempt to attack, or does Fish and Game have restrictions on shooting coyotes? Now, don't get me wrong, I will not encourage anyone to shoot them if at all possible, but if you need to defend either yourself, or another person, I would like have that option available. I wonder how they respond to pepper spray, should that be needed for protection?

Well there is a girls gone wild and now a cougars gone wild, so let me guess. Coyotes are women over 80, gone wild, never surprises me these terms...

The OC's my beat for FOX 11 News. But you can catch me covering just about any story, any place, any time. Have news, will travel! I've been doing that here at Fox 11 for 15 years, traveling coast to coast and south of the border. You never know what you might do or where you might end up and your assignment could change from one minute to the next. To me, that's what being a reporter is all about. And it's pretty cool working in an area where I was born and raised. Yep, I'm a native Angeleno and proud of it!! In case you're wondering, Naipo is Hawaiian, the short version of the 21-letter ancestral name, Naipoikamanaihookaahi....
Good luck on the pronunciation.
