The annual rite of passage for some college students leads them to spring break at Lake Havasu, Arizona.  It's a popular place for many students seeking to escape the rigors of classes and let loose.  This year though, attendance was down when we visited just after Easter.  Why?  Not even the authorities could explain,  But those students who did venture out onto those crystal blue waters with beautiful scenery around, found a way to party and didn't disappoint.  Yes, they jumped off the big rock in Copper Canyon, bared all and had a few cocktails.  It never ceases to amaze me when we in television show up with camera and mic in hand at how willing people will tell you EVERYTHING they did in explicit detail.  They seem to forget or perhaps, don't care, that those comments and pictures will make the nightly news and that mommy or daddy will cringe at the sight of their darling behaving in a manner they warned them about before they left.  Spring Break...you gotta love it!

The parents of these party animals know exactly what their kids are up to . These havasu party goers learned this behavior from mommy and daddy .

Where's the fence??

El Paso Results Differ from CSM
A survey of the Border Patrol El Paso Sector showed little progress in building a fence along the U.S. Mexico border. According to American Border Patrol fewer than seven miles of new pedestrian fencing has been completed in the sector since November, 2006.
ABP challenges the report by the Christian Science Monitor that 27 miles of pedestrian fence are in place in the El Paso Sector, saying the true figure is 19.35 miles, including 13 miles of chain link fence that has been in place for more than ten years.

The OC's my beat for FOX 11 News. But you can catch me covering just about any story, any place, any time. Have news, will travel! I've been doing that here at Fox 11 for 15 years, traveling coast to coast and south of the border. You never know what you might do or where you might end up and your assignment could change from one minute to the next. To me, that's what being a reporter is all about. And it's pretty cool working in an area where I was born and raised. Yep, I'm a native Angeleno and proud of it!! In case you're wondering, Naipo is Hawaiian, the short version of the 21-letter ancestral name, Naipoikamanaihookaahi....
Good luck on the pronunciation.
