I took American Govt. and Political Science classes in college in Boulder Colorado, with a professor that was a senior member of Gary Hart's Presidential campaign. I have delt with some of the most radical of liberals and anti-war folks next to Berkley anyone can find in America. But recently we have seen some of the PoliSci Dept. of UCF's work posted here, and its rather interesting. I'm new to Florida, so I don't really know the "political air" of UCF, but if the recent examples are reflective of it, all I can say is WOW!
The facts being portrayed as correct, to the point of arrogant challenges to all that post here are quite incomplete, and IMO cross over to propaganda. I sure hope that we have some facualty at UCF that has some sort of teaching ethic that points to a little more depth in the field of politics than Daily KOS, or Huffington Post talking points!
What say you?

According to the ladies on the View and even after we buried the "N" word in New Orleans, it seems to be OK for anyone of Black or African descent to use the word in any form they choose exclusively. Anyone Other Than Black (OTB) is banned from its use.
My question then, if we are going to have a second standard of such, then is it only OK for Whites to use the term(s) "Cracker,".."Honkey,".."White Bread," etc? Spanish folks can only use terms of their own, Italians, Polish, Germans, etc all have very specific titles as well.
When a city counsel meeting discusses things falling into a "black hole" ( missing or gone from view.. a scientific term EVERYONE understands) and a Black member asks for an apology for such a term because of outright race baiting. Just who is it that is trying to bring back segregation these days...

Is it just me or is anyone else seeing issues with posting on the blogs now? I have seen where I had comments being reviewed prior to being posted, and others where that message didn't even go up, and its as if I didn't even write anything.
I would think if the webmaster here is suddenly taking a more focused look at posters here we might see some sort of message. I continue to see people posting false information, and twisting facts to fit agendas.

The age old debate on if 55MPH is a good idea for the reasons suggested. Fuel savings and safer roads are the top given reasons.
The debate for it is defended using the issue of drag. The resistance of your car as it travels and the amount of it that is reduced thus saving fuel. I say HOG WASH! If you want to discuss drag, then we should also discuss inertia of motion. The more momentum your car has, the less fuel required to maintain that speed on an even surface. But saving that for another day.
Speed is not what burns fuel, its Revolutions of your engine measured in minutes (RPM) Today's cars are designed and transmissions geared to be turning about 1500 to 1700 RPMs at 65MPH. My Durango and the wife's Lexis at 55MPH has not gone into its tallest gear yet, and actually doing over 2000 RPMs at that speed. At 65MPH the overdrive gear had kicked in and we are back to well below 2000RPMs.
If we REALLY were trying to save fuel, then we would be mandating taller gears by American cars. We already have vehicles that actually drop half its cylinders on the freeway saving half the fuel it would burn.
Food for thought (made me laugh and think at the same time) Heard on the radio the comment, " I don't hear anyone demanding the airlines drop speeds of aircraft to only 300MPH." Hmmmmm... Maybe we should tax Water recreational craft and all terrain vehicles not used in a work capacity then.

I simply am astounded at the Democrat Party. Obama was the chosen one, Clintons thrown under the bus by the Left and its biased media. Even today with the NYTimes taking issue with Obama's flip/flop and run to the center after getting all that radical left wing money, they still buried the story. Obama's communications director out of Chicago was asked if Obama was truely changing positions on key issues, and the man looked right in the camera and said no!.... Wow! talk about full denial!
Well my guess is soon the Obama camp will be spending money on rebuting McCain adds, as well as all the radical left 527s that start turning on Obama. I wouldn't even rule out another behind the scene attempt by Hillary to pull the carpet out from under Obama at the convention in Denver. Obama is about to loose some big numbers, and already the hope for the young vote is again not going to pan out as they are NOT "would be voters"

Freedom of speach is an unalienable right in this country, but many mistake if for being free to act in any fashion under a cloke of "free speach" and misrepresent facts, context, or perspective. Opinions are formed via all of these aspects and an INFORMED opinion can only come from unfettered access to them. These blogs on an open and public blog such as this, are availed in good faith to all, however some with an agenda will protect what is otherwise nothing more than propaganda under a hypersensitive version of the rules that everyone agrees to before engaging in dialog here.
If we allow individuals in an open and public forum such as these blogs to make up their own rules, then we have only anarchy. Freedom of speach does not mean you can do anything you wish, void of accountability or being responsible for the actions used in delivery of that speach. If you are untruthful, or mistaken in your facts, and someone adresses it, simply sensoring them does not make your speach valid, and only illustrates someone of a selfish nature, and agenda driven, and does not represent the truth.
What say you....

Candidates continue to confuse the people with mixed messages. Actions do not match intentions or stated positions:
Obama: Once agreed to not take private funds for his campaign and would stick to government funding should he make it to the general election. OK thats fine, but the question.... If you have found out that the millions of "little donations" make up far more revenues to your campaign, instead of big govt. funds, then how is it you can't apply this proven theory to your position on taxes? Sen. Obama, I believe you mentioned once that taxes are for CONTROL of the people as well as revenue. Just how much CONTROL do you think you should have?
McCain: Your stance on drilling for oil from the Florida everglades to ANWOR seems to have changed. Democrats say you have flipped you position. Oddly enough, the very opposition to your race who stand behind a theme of "REAL CHANGE" are taking you to task for illustrating the very thing they call for. How do you respond to that? If you changed your mind on offshore than why not ANWOR as well? If indeed you believe in States rights, and certainly Alaska supports having the opportunity as well as Florida, should they not be allowed as well?

In American history, it can be expected that the party swing of majority in our govt. should go to the Democrats this time, but we have some new players on the field, that have shattered that paradigm!
With the new media now getting more and more listeners, and more perspective and truth getting out daily, the liberal bias is exposed and out in the open for all to see. The "spin" on politics is unspun or even diverted before the spin can get out now.
The Global Warming theory that has pressed energy for decades has now come to a head, and out of nowhere we have a issue that takes front stage ahead of Iraq, war on terror, abortion, and all the other issues. Other than Bush 1 who on executive order blocked all offshore exploration, the Democrats have obstructed any energy policy for over 30 years now. EVERY registered voter now is affected by energy prices, and is now looking to who will be the one this election to bring "real change" to this issue.
The Democrats in the House and Senate promised lower gas prices 2 years ago, and have not delivered. Usually that would not mean much, as Americans expect little to ever get done in Washington that directly impacts their "backyard" but gas prices have struck a nerve, and Pelosi and Reid now will have to fight to hold on to what majority they have.
Kennedy is sure to be gone after this last term, Sen. Kerry is fast loosing support at home, along with every other Democrat that ran to Hillary. Harry Reid himself is not a popular man in NV.
I smell a McGovern style landslide comming, and this time it just might reach Capital Hill as well as the White House.

The Democrats now scared that the military might turn around and start reporting good news on the war in Iraq or other aspects on the war on terror now are trying to silence the Pentagon by saying their words are propaganda.
Well, now if they seriously intend on going down this path, which is nothing more than outright sensorship, then I say lets just do it!
The President should pick up the red phone, and tell the Joint Chiefs that he wants ALL media credentials pulled and to have the Marines escort every last member of the media out of the Pentagon, cut all electronic media, and communications. Then send out FLASH message traffic to the armed forces around the globe instructing them to put any and all inbedded reporters, and others on the next plane out, or drop them off at the nearest embassy!
I know Roosevelt during WWII made sure the media was sensored, and ran his own news reels! I suggest then that we do exactly that! Let the military do its job, and then lets see what happens when the family and friends of all the military serving overseas end up loosing all communications other than sensored snail mail as Roosevelt also opened all the mail as well!
Hey, if the Liberals REALLY want to repeat history... then lets just do that then!

Oh no! Al Gore is sure to be fit to be tied now! Of course for balance, there are some "scientist" still contending that mankind STILL has an effect because of the theory of Co2 emmissions from us not allowing the planet to complete its typical temperature cycles.
Of course I myself struggle with the Co2 being a bad thing since Mars athmosphere is about 95% Co2 and its 110 below zero on a warm day! Now MAYBE the dfference then might be solar heating... I don't know, but I am certain that most of America and the gas burning population of the planet frankly just didn't care about the issue of Global Warming, and could claim themselves "green" or tree huggers when it really didn't have an impact on your life. Today however, with gas at 5 bucks a gallon, people are starting to ask a few more questions. NASA and NOAA have already had to recend their initial findings on GW data. The UN with its thousands of scientist comming to a concensus had to admit it was really only about 50 or so actual scientist, and they are chasing grant money with the best of them.
Its like the ole locker room antics where a couple folks are snapping towels at each other, and from a distance you don't much care, but suddenly, CRACK! you have been popped with the global warming towel right in your backside, and that sting has got you fired up!

St. Cloud enjoys one of the newest medical facilities in central Fl, and yet they are worried about another hospital's construction in central Fl actually snatching away patients, Doctors, nurses, and medical staff. WHAT?
A Judge today will be hearing arguments on this case? Why! The call for more medical care, and affordable care scream across the land, and now when that call is answered, someone comes along to stop it? We stopped AT&T's monopoly decades ago, and have cheaper/better/competing companies now. If I see a CVS drug store I know I can look across the street and Walgreens will be right there! Home Depot has a Lowes almost sharing parking lots!
Evidently we have a mentality in the medical world that needs adjusting! I watch nursing students have to retake courses because the waiting list for a good nursing program can be 3 years or better, and the studies actually get too old because we don't have enough hospital space to teach and train them!
Either its a competition issue, OR Govt. is working in the back room, trying to keep medical care as rare as they can so people will support Govt healthcare! Time to get to the bottom of this one....

Sen. Warner and Liberman trying to bring forth 500 pages of legislation to force alternative energy ideas upon America. A very socialist mentality that govt. can force private industry to just do as the govt. wishes, so they don't have to go back on the over regulation of our energy policies.
Where is the congressional investigation and public dialog on Global Warming then? We can march baseball players and football players before govt, all day long, but to bring BOTH sides.. ALL evidence for and against Global Warming? Never happen! There is so much evidence now to show the world that Climate change has been far worse without mankind's help. NASA has had to retract their initial position on it, NOAA has had to concede that weather stations across the US were not monitored correctly, even the UN has gone from THOUSANDS of Scientist to a "concensus" from only about 50 world wide. Even the founder of the Weather Channel is thinking about filing charges in court against Al Gore so at least the other side of the debate can be told and documented.
Sen.Warner says America has a responsibility to lead the world in this issue. Really Senator? Then go to the UN and demand China and India and Kyoto be recended immediately! They are polluting for EVERYONE! Lead that charge Senator! But trying to cripple our own economy, and not mandate or have the world over do the same is suicide for the US!

McCain needs to look really hard at Dr. Rice for his VP! Right now, its the old white guy, vs. young black guy with 90+% of the black vote. McCain continues to have a void in his conservative world, and also needs someone that the world recognizes as the face of American policy! Dr. Rice fills that bill! She gives the disheartened women from Hillary's campaign another women, she brings the black vote to BOTH sides of the Presidential race, and has been vetted by the strongest of liberals this nation has to offer!
I don't think she really brings a "Bush Stigma" with her, as it can be easily dismissed as proof of her serving at the pleasure of the elected President. For Dr. Rice to walk out onto the stage and raise hands with McCain in the Republican ticket, you will bring the conservatives back, bring the Black AND FEMALE vote to the Republican side, and show that the GOP is HEARING THE CALL OF THE PEOPLE!!

Today Obama raised the issue of gas prices, suggesting that there won't be a short term fix for the price of gas. That there are issues related to the price of gas that have not been looked at yet.
Really? Because only 2 short years ago Nancy Pelosi had the solution, and ran the campaign on it as one of the things she intended on fixing in her first one hundred days! So now which is it then..... Were Democrats selling a bunch of junk to their voters simply to get into office? Do the Democrats actually have a plan, but just won't execute it like defunding the military and ending the war?
There is a call from the left that American needs to change its National Energy Policy. Really? As Maxine Waters accidently let slip out that her liberal self would TAKE OVER Big Oil and SOCIALIZE it be what they are looking to do? Do Democrats realize that you simply can't just "take over" that this nation could not afford to operate "oil" in a fashion that would bring down costs? We seem to have some politicians that can't get it though their heads that government is NOT a profit organization! In reality, The remaining companies would just move operations overseas like the Drug Companys did when Hillary went after their profits, and we would end up buying oil from them, just as we had to do with flu vaccines after we chased the companies out of the US!
Maybe we need to just STOP ELECTING LAWYERS! and start electing businessmen and women who understand the world evolves around supply/demand, and money! Power is pointless if you have neither of the three with it!

So now after the white Catholic Priest's ridiculous sermon being plastered on YouTube and as Obama puts it "Some cable channel" (FOX NEWS) that he must resign his membership. During his dialog with the media, he makes comment to having to leave so that the new Pastor won't have to keep looking over his shoulder....
IOWs Obama DIDN"T leave the Trinity because they were found to be rasist, and defamed America. Obama didn't leave because the bulletins of Trinity were chalked full of propaganda from Hummas! Obama didn't leave because of the Pastors (past, present, and visiting) all are sympathetic supporters of Louis Farakahn. Oh no.. Obama left because the church was being exposed for it!
Obama.. you just dont' get it! You continue to try to seperate yourself from the teachings of Trinity, and defending yourself with the lame excuse of "It never happened when I was in attendance" Yet a year ago your church had to take down the racist portions of its own website that were up, and all of the previous circumstances mentioned previously can't just be dismissed! Had this been a White Supremist Church and McCain tried to pass off the same excuses you have, he would have been run out on a rail!
This goes to my previous posts reguarding the media now. Liberals can continue to remain in denial that no longer are your dealings, and actions protected by a left wing bias in a media monopoly. Talk Radio, and that pesky cable news show will be here forever, and continue to grow!
