So if some young man is strolling down Euclid and is carrying and ASSAULT WEAPON the cops aren't going to do a thing?????  Get Serious!!

That is the craziest statement he has made yet!  He is trying to raise the age to purchase a gun "legally" to 21.  Because the majority of crimes committed with a gun are by people under the of 28.  The majority of murders in the city of Cleveland are not by registered gun owners either!   They are criminals and drug dealers.  And I thought Jane Campbell was an idiot!!!    Somebody get Mike White back here!   At least he had a brain!

 

I notice that more and more crimes are commited by teenagers. Whats going on with this?  I just read the story of the teenager who blew away 5 people in a mall!  Then there's the kid who called in 2 bomb threats to Brunswick High School!  Almost every morning I hear on the news some story of a teenager who either shot somebody or stole a car.  I noticed  where I work the guys that are between the ages of 18 and 20 think nothing of telling off their supervisor.  They use a string of obscenities and threats and racial slurs!  And act like its no big deal!  What gives??  Some people will say thats just the way kids are nowadays.  Shrug their shoulders and give up.  I'm sorry but I have a hard time with that!  I know my parents wouldn't tolerate that kind of behavior. I know people my age who's kids have actually called the police on them for smacking them.  Kids it seems anymore have no fear of their parents, the authorities, teachers, or bosses.  Why is that???  What are the consequences anymore?  The schools try and set rules, such as uniforms and no cell phones and what do some parents do?  Head up to the school and throw a fit about it!  I don't get it!  I raised my kids the old school way.  You acted stupid you got spanked.  You got in trouble at school or anywhere else you'd be ten times more sorry when you got home.  They never got mouthy with me or use profanity around me.  You did you got smacked.  You got grades lower than a B and you had no social life.  They are now responsible adults with good jobs.  Maybe we should go back to the our parents did it.  Which would be you don't take crap from some kid who isn't paying your mortgage!  Zowee  I feel better!

AS FAR AS THE RESTAURANTS BEING NON-SMOKING THATS FINE BY ME. I CAN SURVIVE AND HOUR OR TWO WITHOUT SMOKING. I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST HOWEVER NOW THAT EVERY RESTAURANT ESTABLISHMENT IN OHIO IS SMOKE FREE THAT NOW I SHOULD BE ASKED IF I WOULD LIKE THE CHILDREN/FAMILY SECTION OR THE ADULT SECTION. IF I'M GOING TO DISH OUT $40 FOR A DINNER I DO NOT WISH TO BE ASSAULTED BY SOMEONES UNRULY, SCREAMING, WHINING, CRYING, COMPLAINING CHILDREN. THERE ARE MCDONALDS FOR THAT SORT OF DINING.

UNFORTUNATELY TEACHERS ARE SERIOUSLY UNDERPAID FOR THEIR VALUE. EVEN AT $35,00 A YEAR IT WOULD BE PRETTY HARD TO PAY ON $90,000 IN STUDENT LOANS, OWN A HOME, DRIVE A DECENT CAR AND PAY YOUR BILLS. ONE DOES NOT "EASILY" MOVE OUT OF STATE EITHER. A LOT OF THE TEACHERS MY DAUGHTER MET ARE FORCED TO WORK A SECOND JOB JUST TO MAKE ENDS MEET. THATS JUST SAD AFTER YOU'VE SPENT THAT MUCH MONEY ON A DEGREE! AND THATS JUST THE ONES THAT ACTUALLY HAVE A JOB TEACHING. I'VE PERSONALLY MET QUITE A FEW PEOPLE WITH TEACHING DEGREES THAT WORK IN OFFICES BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT FIND A JOB TEACHING AT ALL. MY POINT WAS THAT TEACHERS SHOULD BE PAID A LOT MORE FOR SHAPING THE MINDS OF OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS. ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY ARE EXPECTED TO FORK OVER THE SAME AMOUNT FOR A COLLEGE EDUCATION AS SOMEONE WHO COULD GRADUATE FROM THE SAME COLLEGE WITH A DIFFERENT DEGREE AND BE PAID A HIGHER WAGE. WITHOUT TEACHERS WE HAVE NO FUTURE.

MY DAUGHTER TOOK THE TEACHER EXPLORATION EDUCATION PROGRAM HER SENIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL. SHE LEARNED A LOT FROM ALL THE TEACHERS AND STUDENTS. SHE REALLY ENJOYED THE KINDERGARTEN AND 1ST GRADE CLASSES. UNFORTUNATELY SHE ALSO LEARNED THAT THERE ARE NO JOBS FOR TEACHERS IN OHIO. SHE CONCLUDED THAT IT IS FINANCIALLY NOT WORTH THE 5 YEARS OF COLLEGE AT APPROXIMATELY $18,000 A YEAR ONLY TO GRADUATE AND EITHER NOT GET A JOB TEACHING AT ALL OR SECURE A STARTING PAY OF ROUGHLY $25,000 A YEAR. WE HAD TO ASK OURSELVES IS SPENDING $90,0000 FOR A TEACHING DEGREE WORTH IT. PROBABLY NOT. SHE IS NOW A PHARMACY TECH AND PERIODICALLY VOLUNTEERS AT THE SCHOOL JUST SO SHE CAN SPEND TIME WITH THE TEACHERS AND KIDS. SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN A FANTASTIC TEACHER TOO. UNFORTUNATELY REALITY WON THIS TIME.
